A training seminar is to be held on the weekend of 2nd/3rd September 2005 with Brent Hire Sensei, Chief European Instructor for the ISF.  There will be two 6 hour training sessions on both the Saturday and Sunday, which will be broken down into shorter sessions.  The final location has yet to be finalised but will be in or around the Weston-Super-Mare area and will support both the respective Dojo of Fred East Sensei and Darren Whyley Sensei.

The latest book from Obata Sensei is now available and is specifically aimed at 'Tameshigiri' - the art of cutting.  Tameshigiri features heavily within the Shinkendo syllabus and this book is part of the recommended reading for all students of Shinkendo along with anyone else who has a serious interest in the use of the Katana or study in Kenjutsu.  Copies can either be ordered through the ISF website (www.shinkendo.com) or through your Instructor.

There are 3 European seminars, so far confirmed, with Obata Kaiso.  These are as follows:

  • 1st - 3rd July 2005 - Arcueil - Paris
  • 25th & 26th September 2005 - Poland
  • 7th - 9th October 2005 - Elfingen/Kaisten - Switzerland
